Event: 'Summer Teacher Institute: Connecting Science And Art' Print
Date: Thursday, June 12, 2014 - 9:00 am
Duration: 7 Hours

Just as scientists investigate the world around them, artists and art historians similarly develop ideas, formulate theories, and test hypotheses. In anticipation of the fall exhibition Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery of Art, teachers explore the deep connections between science and art over three days of observation and experimentation. Hear from experts, study works of art, and participate in hands-on workshops that examine topics from climate to color theory.

Teachers earn 18 hours of continuing professional education credit (CPE) for attending all three days. Fee (includes lunch on Friday and museum admission all three days): McNay members $65; nonmembers $75.  Registration deadline: June 4.
