Event: 'Evening For Educators: Dressing The Part' Print
Date: Thursday, October 17, 2013 - 5:00 pm
Duration: 3 Hours 30 Minutes

Explore the exciting world of costume design in two exhibitions, Cut! Costume and the Cinema and Onstage! Costume Design and the Theatre. Michelle Ney, Professor of Theatrical Design at Texas State University, contrasts period and contemporary approaches to designing for the stage in a keynote address. Then, choose two of four session options and consider ways that costumes establish authenticity for the audience and set the stage for storytelling. Learn about the collaborative design process behind costumes from the stage and screen and have the chance to create your own.
