Backstage at the McNay: Triple Threat in The Taming of the Shrew
Thursday, November 7, 6:30 pm, Chiego Lecture Hall
Diane Malone discusses not only directing Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, but also designing the set and costumes. A self-described hunter-gatherer, Malone handpicks off-the-rack clothes and seamlessly transforms them into period costumes for this production set in Renaissance Italy. Opening at the Classic Theatre of San Antonio on November 8, the cast performs select scenes from the play, one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies and sometimes considered by modern audiences his most controversial work. Reception precedes the conversation at 6:00 pm.

This program offers continuing professional education credit (CPE).
